Buffalo, New York is a city in Western New York on the shore of Lake Erie. It earned the nickname "The City of Light" from its early adoption of electric power. It is the second largest city in New York at a population of 256,304. Buffalo is known for wings, sports, and lake effect snow. It is also home to General Mills - you can smell Cheerios baking as you drive past downtown Buffalo.
